We have been so busy with our learning these past two weeks that we haven't had a chance to update you! First off, our Mathematician of the Week (left) for 29th September was chosen because he persevered with some tricky place-value work and then helped his partner (right). His partner went on to push herself … Continue reading Better Late Than Never… Superstars x2!
Sports Day was last Friday, and what a great day we had. Thankfully, the weather co-operated! Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 were split into four teams (red, yellow, green and blue), and there were track events and field events. Year 5s ended up competing with Year 6s. The tug-of-war was certainly a nail-biter! Look … Continue reading Sports Day!
We had a fantastic time at Ponds Forge when we took part in the swimming festival. We met children from a different school.
Playing in the pool was great fun as we could use floats in the lazy river, have a go on the slides and experience the wave machine.
All the children got a new swimming bag and a voucher for a free swim. Have a look at the website to choose the venue you would like to visit.
Obviously we dont have any photos from in the pool but here are our excited faces on our journey there.
Thanks to SIV for hosting and to all the organisers within SSELP.
Today in Why Weight?, we played dodgeball. What a great time we had! Chris and Mrs Lohoar chose to celebrate these two for their great work and fantastic strategising.
Just a reminder to all Year 5 children and their parents or carers: The next Why Weight? session will take place on Tuesday, 21st March, instead of Friday, 24th March. This is because we will be going on our Harry Potter trip next Friday! The next Why Weight? session will be an activity one, Year … Continue reading Schedule Change for Next Week!
Today in Why Weight, we learned some new skills and practised some we've used before. During our session, we also worked in teams and were awarded team points for supporting each other. At the end of the session, Mrs Lohoar and Chris chose the Sportsman and Sportswoman of the session. These two below supported their … Continue reading Team Spirit!

One week, we learn about healthy eating; the following week, we do some physical activity. During our first classroom session a couple of weeks ago, we learned about the Eatwell plate, which helps … Continue reading Alive and Kicking
