This half term we are lucky enough to be working with our artists in residence. We will post updates as our work progresses. We are working with willow and tissue paper to create characters from Harry Potter. Each child has been put in a Harry Potter house (Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw).
Here's a look at how far we have got with our Harry Potter-themed textiles project. You can have a look at Emerald's class work here, if you haven't already seen it. We will keep you posted as the project progresses.
It’s not just about academic success at Prince Edward. We love the arts! There’s always so much going on at our school and all the pupils are involved in the arts. We currently employ two professional artists to work with our pupils every Monday. They are timetabled to work with all our pupils from nursery to Y6. The artists create huge installations and, over time, we will have them all displayed in and around school. Our pupils work with sewing machines, willow, clay and produce enormous art showstoppers. The first “showstopper” was installed this week. It has been made by every Y6 pupil and it ties in nicely with the work our school are doing based on the Chinese New Year right now.
Watch this space for the next art project…
