This half term Year 5 have been learning all about the Tudors: how the Tudor era began, what life was life for people during the time (particularly for children) and what kind of monarch Henry VIII was.
First we learned about the War of the Roses and the Battle of Bosworth, which ended the war between the Houses of Lancaster and York and marked the start of the Tudor era.
Then we researched what life was like for people living during Tudor times and compared that to life in the modern day.
Next we learned about Henry VIII and his many wives.
Finally, we started to sketch portraits of Henry VIII, perhaps the most famous Tudor monarch.
Here are some photos from our recent class assembly, during which we showcased some of our work. Some of us even performed songs that we wrote — including raps!
Here is some of our Tudor homework. We really enjoyed this topic as we’re sure you can tell!
