Robot Wars!

Prince Edward Headteacher's Blog

Some of our Y5 and Y6 pupils competed in this year’s inter-school Robot Wars competition. Every year we invite the Robot Wars expert in to show us how to make our own robots, to embark on challenges and navigate obstacles. We always invite pupils from other schools in Sheffield to take part too.

What is particularly exciting, is one of the heavily, armoured robots from the TV show makes an appearance in our school and we can see how complex the real robots are. They are virtually indestructible.

We were proud to come in 2nd and 3rd place out of all the groups from all the schools taking part.

Green for Grenfell

Thank you, Pearl class, for writing this post. Mrs Lohoar did not get the chance to photograph our class for this, but we had lots of green in Amethyst, too!

Today, we were invited to wear the colour green to support the people suffering or were involved in the Grenfell fire in London. By wearing green, we show solidarity and support for the people who died, were injured or lost everything in this tragic event.

A huge thank you to all of our parents and carers for sending donations in for this cause. We have raised over £200. This money will go towards helping those that have been affected in London.

100% Attendance for the Whole Year

Prince Edward Headteacher's Blog

100% Attendance Award

33 children met a very important person today – The Lord Mayor! This is because they have been recognised as having 100% attendance for the year which is a really great achievement and one that we are very proud of.
Miss French told me she was extremely proud of the children and as usual, their behaviour and manners were impeccable. In fact, someone on the tram commented how we behaved the children were! Several other Headteachers have told me that they were at the wonderful event and our children stood out a mile as being so well-behaved and respectful.
Well done children, you all have a love of school and learning and are wonderful ambassadors for Prince Edward Primary School.
