Amazing Writers!

Prince Edward Headteacher's Blog

At the end of last week I was thrilled to read so much quality writing. The Y6s showed me several great starts to their versions of the story of: how the Chinese New Year was named after animals. All four have beautiful presentation and each story was individual. I could detect a personal style in their writing.

Cayleigh and Tamzin in Y5  have produced wonderful pieces of writing. Their language is very descriptive and they both paint vivid pictures in my mind through their choice of words.

And finally, I saw some great examples of ‘Before’ and ‘After’ writing in Y4. Just look at the progress both children have made.

Art at Prince Edward

Prince Edward Headteacher's Blog

It’s not just about academic success at Prince Edward. We love the arts! There’s always so much going on at our school and all the pupils are involved in the arts. We currently employ two professional artists to work with our pupils every Monday. They are timetabled to work with all our pupils from nursery to Y6. The artists create huge installations and, over time, we will have them all displayed in and around school. Our pupils work with sewing machines, willow, clay and produce enormous art showstoppers. The first “showstopper” was installed this week. It has been made by every Y6 pupil and it ties in nicely with the work our school are doing based on the Chinese New Year right now.
